Find conversations that came from ads

When a customer starts a conversation from one of your Click-to-WhatsApp ads on Facebook or Instagram, tkana saves the ad’s details with that conversation. The Conversations page shows them in several places, so your team knows a customer came from an ad before replying.

  1. In Conversations, click Filter, then choose Source.
  2. Pick one option:
    • All Meta ads: customers with at least one conversation that started from an ad.
    • One ad: each ad is listed by its headline followed by the last digits of its ID, since some ads share a headline.
    • No ad attribution: customers whose conversations carry no ad data.
  3. The Source filter you picked appears above the list. Click its ✕ to remove it.

A customer is listed when any of their conversations started from the ad, and their row still counts all their conversations.

Under the latest message preview, the customer’s row carries a highlighted line:

  • Meta ad · the ad’s headline when one of the customer’s conversations started from an ad.
  • The number of ad conversations, such as 3 Meta ad conversations, followed by the latest ad’s headline, when there is more than one.

The line shows even when the ad conversation is an earlier one, not the customer’s latest.

  • If the customer’s latest conversation started from an ad, a Started from a Meta ad strip with the ad’s headline appears under the conversation header. Click it to open the details panel on the ad’s details.
  • If an earlier conversation started from an ad, the divider before it in the thread carries a Meta ad marker with the ad’s headline.

This way your team knows exactly which conversation the ad started, and the ad is never credited for everything the customer did.

Click Details to open the details panel. If the conversation started from an ad, an Ad attribution card shows:

  • Meta ad · Click-to-WhatsApp at the top of the card.
  • The ad’s picture if there is one, its headline, and its text.
  • The full Meta ad ID, with a Copy button. Use it to find the ad in Meta Ads Manager.
  • Conversation started: when the customer sent their first message.
  • Open ad post, which opens the Facebook or Instagram post in a new tab, when Meta sent its link.
  • Technical details (collapsed): Source type, Media type, and Click ID with a copy button.

The card shows the conversation you select in the thread, or the latest one if you haven’t selected one. A note at the bottom reminds you that it shows only what Meta sent with the customer’s first message, without the campaign or ad set name.

Switch to Table view to see one conversation per row:

  • A Source column appears after Channel. It shows Meta ad and the ad’s headline with the full ad ID underneath, or No ad attribution.
  • Above the table, a Source menu offers All sources, All Meta ads, each ad on its own, and No ad attribution.

Pick one ad to list every conversation that ad started, one per row. This is what the View conversations link in the Click to WhatsApp Ads tab opens.
